WATCH | Dewald Brevis claims first IPL wicket and it’s the one and only Virat Kohli
It was a topsy turvy day for young South African cricketer Dewald Brevis in the Indian Premier League on Saturday.
After a promising debut for Mumbai Indians during the week where he scored a fluent 29 off just 19 balls, Brevis could only manage 8 off 11 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He also didn't have the greatest time in the field and dropped a chance which gave Virat Kohli a reprieve.
Luckily, he later made up for that with the wicket of former RCB and Indian captain, and even if it was slightly fortuitous, Brevis won't mind.
Kohli was trapped in front by the youngster, a more than handy leg-spin bowler.
Replays suggested that he got a huge inside edge, but the third-umpire had other ideas and gave Kohli out for 48.
However, it didn't matter as RCB went on to win by seven wickets, leaving Mumbai Indians with their fourth straight loss.
Brevis certainly has had a baptism of fire in the IPL, but there's no doubt he has the talent to succeed.
