Conor Benn will be looking for a statement victory on Saturday night when he defends his WBA Continental Welterweight Championship against a tough opponent in Chris van Heerden at the AO Arena in Manchester. The South African has previously fought Errol Spence Jr and gave the American star a tough fight whilst being on a five win streak.

Benn remains undefeated in his 20 fights and secured an impressive knockout win over former world champion Chris Algieri last time out in December. He currently holds top ten rankings with the WBA, WBO and IBF after notching three wins during a breakout 2021.

Benn and van Heerden are set to meet face-to-face for the first time at a press conference in Manchester this afternoon in which promoter Eddie Hearn and fighters on the card will be speaking to the media.
