Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx stole the show in the Japan Rugby League One with a hat-trick of tries at the weekend.

Marx's heroics was enough for his side, the Kubota Spears, to thump the Green Rockets 59-26.

Elsewhere, Springbok fullback Willie le Roux produced an impressive performance for Toyota Verblitz, who beat Toshiba Brave Lupus 33-23.

Pieter-Steph du Toit also started at blindside flank for Toyota Verblitz.

Another Bok flank, Kwagga Smith, played a strong role in helping the Shizuoka Blue Revs claim a 36-13 win over Johann Ackermann's Red Hurricanes.
