Warrington Wolves' Kyle Amor has deal in place elsewhere for next season admits Daryl Powell

Kyle Amor could make his Warrington Wolves debut against Leeds Rhinos this weekend, but the Wire head coach Daryl Powell has revealed he has already agreed a deal to sign for another club in 2023. Amor signed for the Wolves last week on a season-long loan from Super League champions St Helens.

His contract with the Saints expires at the end of the current campaign, but any notion of him extending his stay with Warrington beyond this season appears to be off the table after Powell said the Ireland international had secured his future elsewhere.

When asked if the door was ajar for a more permanent stay at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Powell said: "He's got a contract elsewhere next year, so that's not part of the deal. We're pleased to have him though, he's going to add a lot."

Powell said Amor has a 'good chance' of featuring against Rohan Smith's side, and praised his impact since arriving from the Saints. "Some of the things he's said from a leadership perspective have been great," Powell said. "He's been at St Helens and they've been awesome and he's brought some real smart titbits and things that he's talking about in practice.

"He's a good guy, he's a real solid player and he's fitted in pretty easily. I'd expect that when he gets out on the field he's going to be important for us."

Powell suggested there will be minimal changes to the side that will face Leeds on Friday from the one that narrowly lost to the Saints two weeks ago, but did confirm that Josh Thewlis and Danny Walker are in line to return from injury for Friday's game.
