Walsh signs off with 69 as Briem lands maiden win at La Sella Open

Lauren Walsh carded a final round 69 at the La Sella Open where Helen Briem finished bogey-free to land her first victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

FINAL LEADERBOARD

Walsh matched her best round of the week at La Sella Golf Resort to finish on five-under par, 13 shots adrift of the German winner.

Sara Byrne, on her professional debut, finished out a memorable week with a 70 to finish on level par.

The day however belonged to Briem, whose 66 meant she had two shots to spare over Pauline Bouchard.

The German teenager began the day as the 54-hole leader and got off to a good start by making a birdie on her first hole.

Briem, who is a four-time winner on the LET Access Series (LETAS), continued to impress on a flawless final day with birdies on holes seven and nine, as well as 12 and 15.

With France's Pauline Roussin-Bouchard only one shot behind the 19-year-old coming down the last, the German star rolled in her sixth birdie of the day on 18 to secure a two-shot victory.
