Wales v Slovenia Live: Kick-off time and score updates as Women's World Cup play-off spot within reach

Gemma Grainger's Wales side are just 90 minutes away from reaching the play-offs for next year's Women's World Cup, and it all comes down to tonight: Wales v Slovenia, Cardiff City Stadium, 7.45pm kick-off, winner takes all, the biggest game in Welsh women's football history.

Wales, who have never featured at a major women's tournament, are bidding to qualify for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

A point against Slovenia, who Wales drew 1-1 against away from home last October, will guarantee the hosts a play-off berth by virtue of finishing second in Group I behind runaway leaders France.

Tonight's match, which is being broadcast live on BBC One Wales and iPlayer, is set to be played in front of a record crowd for a home women's international, with more than 12,000 tickets already being sold to set up a doubling of the previous fan record of 5,445 this time last year.

Wales set up the winner-takes-all clash following a 1-0 win away to Greece on Friday night, which Wales' record appearance-holder Jess Fishlock missed out on due to suffering "a knock" in training. It remains to be seen whether she will be fit to face Slovenia, but Grainger has an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from. Wales midfielder Angharad James is set to become the nation's youngest centurion aged 28, while defender Rhiannon Roberts will earn her 50th cap.

Slovenia's visit to Cardiff marks only the second time Wales have gone into their final qualification game on the verge of progressing further, having pushed England all the way in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
