Wales legend makes Manchester United admission when asked about Gareth Bale

Wales legend Dean Saunders believes that Gareth Bale would walk into the current Manchester United team should he move to Old Trafford.

Bale is currently without a club after leaving Real Madrid this summer. The 32-year-old suffered a torrid time at Los Blancos last season, making just seven appearances in all competitions following his return from a loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite his lack of games for the La Liga giants last term, there has been no shortage of suitors for Bale this summer. Championship side Cardiff City are the surprise favourites to sign Bale having met with him over a possible move to his hometown club.

According to Saunders, plenty of teams in the Premier League would still benefit from Bale's services, including United. The former Wolves manager told talkSPORT : "I think whoever he plays for he can score all types of goals, can’t he? Free kicks, headers, tap-ins, volleys.

"He can score all types of goals, so I think Newcastle will be perfect for him. If he was on the bench at Man City, he’d come on and have an impact.

"If he was on the bench at Liverpool he’d have an impact. Man United should be trying to sign him. He’s got a good attitude. He’d walk in their team."
