W Series star Jessica Hawkins becomes first British female TCR winner
Jessica Hawkins notched a new career milestone on Monday by becoming the first British woman to take an overall victory in a touring car race.
The W Series star led from the first corner and outpaced Irish driver Max Hart, who applied constant pressure on the Brit right until the end.
With her stunning drive at Oulton Park, Hawkins notched her first win of the season and in turn, the first win for a woman in British TCR history.
It was a fierce contest at the Cheshire circuit, with the relentless Hart being snubbed of the top spot for the second consecutive race. But despite missing out on P1, he remains top of the drivers’ standings on 74 points.
The Irishman took second place at Oulton Park, while Callum Newsham finished third to complete the podium standings.
This feeling!!! P1!!!
