W Series: Abbi Pulling ready to build on incredible debut season

British racing driver Abbi Pulling rose into the spotlight last season with the W Series after a remarkable run saw her finish inside the top seven, despite featuring in just half of the races.

Her impressive achievement means she is set for her first full campaign in the Championship after automatically qualifying for a seat this year.

The 18-year-old rounded off her debut season with her first ever podium finish at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Pulling, who is mentored by last season’s runner-up Alice Powell, will give her compatriot a real run for her money this year when she features in every race on the calendar.

She has already shown she can compete with the most experienced drivers on the grid thanks to a stunning second place finish in the final race of the 2021 season.

After signing for new team Racing X, Pulling is ready to take the series by storm.

Prior to the double-header finale in Texas, Pulling was P14 in the Championship and had made a top ten finish her main goal — unaware that her performances in the States would completely smash that target.

“I definitely didn’t expect that last year,” the rising racing star admitted. “Going into this year, I’m going to take it round by round. I think I showed my potential in Austin and given the opportunity I think I can do well.”

As well as her participation in the W Series, Pulling was also competing in Formula 4, where she hoped to challenge for the title after finishing sixth in 2020 with four podium finishes.

Unfortunately, the teenage trailblazer had to pull out of the competition due to lack of funding.
