Virat Kohli On Verge Of Sensational IPL Feat, Set To Join Rohit Sharma In Elite List

Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli is on the verge of achieving a massive IPL record as his side face Mumbai Indians in a much-anticipated contest. Kohli, who is currently the top run-scorer in the ongoing IPL 2024, is just four sixes away hitting 250 maximums in the history of the competition. He will become only the second Indian ever after Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma to achieve this big milestone. Overall, he will become the fourth batter to hit 250 IPL sixes with Chris Gayle (357) in the lead followed by Rohit Sharma (264) and Kohli's one-time RCB teammate AB De Villiers (251). Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni occupies the fifth position currently with 242 sixes in 255 matches.

It has been a tough campaign for both Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL 2024. MI were already in the limelight following Hardik Pandya replacing Rohit Sharma as the skipper and things did not improve as the franchise slumped to three consecutive losses in the beginning.

As a result, questions have emerged over Kohli's approach during the knocks with many fans and experts talking about his strike rate that they believe was slightly slow for T20 cricket.
