Viral video exposes Lindelof, Maguire and McTominay's shocking defending for De Bruyne's goal

Manchester United were outclassed by Manchester City in their Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

United went into the game unbeaten in eight English top-flight games.

But City proved to be too good as the home side ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

Despite going a goal down after just four minutes, United actually started off the game well.

They equalised through Jadon Sancho in the 22nd minute and, for a short while, it looked as if they could take points off their fierce rivals.

But they weren’t on level terms for long when Kevin De Bruyne netted his second goal of the game just before the half-an-hour mark.

In truth, the opportunity was handed to him on a plate. Numerous defensive mistakes resulted in De Bruyne firing into the net from just a few yards out.

A video has now gone viral which exposes Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay for their parts in the goal.

The caption of the video reads: “Lindelof and McTominay, uninterested. Maguire, shambolic. This sums up the weak mentality and poor defending in this Man Utd side.”

You can watch it below…

The first mistake was made by Lindelof. The Swedish defender came charging out and was beaten to the ball by Phil Foden.

There was still time for Lindelof to rectify his mistake but he showed no desire to get back.

He let De Bruyne run by him and then stood on the edge of the box watching as the Belgian fired into the net.

Maguire’s mistake has been heavily scrutinised and also played a major role in the goal.
