Viewers say 'if looks could kill' as Lorraine Kelly slammed for sharing actress Anne Reid's real age
Viewers were left unimpressed as they watched the latest episode of Lorraine as they remarked: "If looks could kill!" Lorraine Kelly was back fronting her self-titled ITV show on Tuesday (July 18) when she was joined live in the studio by Anne Reid.
The actress was on the programme to chat about starring in new show The Sixth Commandment. The BBC One series started on BBC One on Monday night (July 17) and is based on a true story which the broadcaster describes as "one of the most complex and confounding criminal cases in recent memory".
With a script by Sarah Phelps - known for A Very British Scandal and The Pale Horse - the series explores the deaths of Peter Farquhar and Ann Moore-Martin in the village of Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire. Farquhar was also a former teacher of English for 34 years, at the Manchester Grammar School and Stowe School.

But after speaking about the new four-part drama, there was an awkward moment during their chat when Lorraine said what an incredible career Anne had had, and the actress disagreed. "I'll argue with you about that," she said.
"The last 20 years have been great, but before that, you know it was alright... I always worked but I never got leading parts." The Dinnerladies star went on: "People say, 'You've had a wonderful career.' I would have liked to have played leading parts."
However, it appeared to get worse, if viewers' comments are anything to go by, when the presenter told viewers that she had promised Anne not to share her age. But as their chat came to an end Lorraine said that, for any Bingo players, it was "two fat ladies" - revealing that the actress is in fact 88.
