Viddal Riley misses six-figure bonus from KSI after undercard Amir Khan v Kell Brook win

Viddal Riley has missed out on the opportunity to secure a six-figure bonus upon his return to the ring despite securing victory.

The 24-year-old social media star was back in the ring following a two-year absence and comfortably outboxed his veteran opponent Willbeforce Shihepo on the undercard of Amir Khan vs Kell Brook.

Riley secured a knockdown in the first round and looked to be on the way for a stoppage, which would have resulted in a £10k bonus from his friend KSI.

Prior to the fight, KSI had promised his friend a tidy bonus if he secured a knockout as he wrote on Instagram: "Knock him out and I give you 10k."

Amir Khan versus Kell Brook, live from the AO Arena, will be broadcast on UK TV on Sky Sports Box Office.

You don't need to buy a Sky Sports subscriber to access their Box Office content. You can, however, check out the latest discounts on Sky packages by going to www.sky.com/deals.

Coverage of Khan vs Brook starts at 6pm Saturday, February 18. The fight will also be repeated on Sky Sports Box Office on Sunday, February 19, at 8am and 3pm.

However, that stoppage never came and, as a result, Riley misses out on the bonus - but a six-round encounter will provide a boost following a lengthy absence from the ring.

Following the bout, Riley commented on the promise by telling Sky Sports: "JJ, you're lucky, you get to keep your 10k!"

It was a long-awaited return to the ring for Riley, following a number of frustrations that saw previous scheduled fights called off.

Riley was due to fight on the undercard of a Gervonta Davis event in 2019 and on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr last year but was forced out of both contests with a back injury.
