Victories for Ireland men's & women's 7s teams in NZ

Ireland's men's and women's teams began their HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Hamilton, New Zealand on Friday.

The men edged past Uruguay 14-12 thanks to tries from Aaron O'Sullivan, Bryan Mollen, with Billy Dardis and Mark Roche booting a couple of crucial conversions

They next face the USA in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The women's side were far too strong for Brazil as they powered to a 28-5 victory.

Eve Higgins, Lucy Hall and Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe (2) all crossed for tries in an impressive performance.

They take on Spain next - that match also kicks off very early Saturday morning.
