Usain Bolt 100m WR vs Paul Pogba penalty run-up for Man Utd in 2018

Manchester United finally cut ties with Paul Pogba at the end of last season, with the Frenchman moving back to Juventus where he enjoyed a much more enjoyable time before his major money move back to Manchester United in 2016.

Despite winning the World Cup, we’ve failed to see the best of the midfield maestro, with him making headlines for all the wrong reasons during his time in England, whether that be his antics away from the pitch, training ground demeanour or his failures whilst playing for the Old Trafford outfit.

One thing that always got people talking was his hilariously slow penalty run-ups. He’s not the only player to go for an eccentric approach to the penalty spot, but given the nature of how he does it, many people had a lot to say on it.

Back in 2018 against Everton, the Red Devils were awarded a  penalty, with Pogba stepping up to take the responsibility.

He approached the ball with the tiniest steps slowly before striking the ball. Unsurprisingly, he missed the spot kick, but was lucky enough as the ball rebounded off the post back to the Frenchman to put the ball home.

Usain Bolt is the best sprinter the world has ever seen, with his 2009 world record for the 100 metres still the benchmark for others to try and beat at the moment.

The internet is an unforgiving place, so it’s no surprise to see people make a mockery of the run-up from Pogba, putting it side-by-side with the 100 metre world record from Bolt.

Jamaica’s greatest Olympian managed to complete his 100 metre sprint in Berlin in 2009 quicker than Pogba taking that infamous penalty against Everton. The penalty took 9.96 seconds to complete with Bolt’s world record standing at 9.58 seconds.
