US Open round one: Tee times

Rory McIlroy will be the first of the Irish starters at the US Open with the County Down man starting his first round on the 10th hole at 12.40pm Irish time.

The 2011 winner of the competition will be alongside Japan's Hideki Matsuyama and America’s Xander Schauffele for the first two rounds at Brookline.

Seamus Power and Shane Lowry will both start on the first hole around the same time this evening.

Power is first off at 6.25pm alongside Joohyung Kim of Korea and Australian Min Woo Lee.

will tee off with six-times major winner Phil Mickelson and Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa, last year’s runner-up, at 6.47pm.

Last year’s champion Jon Rahm will start with US duo Collin Morikawa and James Piot at 12.18pm.

The first three-balls will be off at 11.45am with Michael Thorbjornsen, Erik Barnes and Matt McCarty teeing off at the first hole and Fran Quinn, Callum Tarren and Hayden Buckley at the 10th hole.

Tiger Woods has previously pulled out of the competition to instead focus on the Open Championship at St Andrew’s.

"I previously informed the USGA that I will not be competing in the US Open as my body needs more time to get stronger for major championship golf," Woods said on Twitter.
