US Open: Coco Gauff "scrolls on TikTok all day" when not competing

Tennis star Coco Gauff has revealed she “scrolls on TikTok all day” when she is not competing.

The 18-year-old reached the quarter-finals of the US Open after a close encounter against China’s Zhang Shuai.

She delighted the home crowd with a 7-5, 7-5 victory, setting up a last eight clash against Caroline Garcia.

Gauff was also competing in the doubles tournament alongside Jessica Pegula, but a first round exit left her unsure of what to do with her free time.

Gauff is in the form of her life, reaching the US Open quarter-finals for the first time in her career. She also made the final of the French Open in June, losing to world number one Iga Świątek.

It will be a tough encounter against Garcia, who has an unbeaten streak of 10 matches. The Frenchwoman has reached the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for only the second time in her career.

“She’s obviously been playing really good tennis, I’ve been playing well too so I think it’s going to be a great match,” Gauff said.

“No matter what, win or lose, I know I’m going to give
