Updated IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap List After PBKS vs DC Game: Big Blow For Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings suffered a big blow to their playoff hopes as they lost to Delhi Capitals in an IPL 2023 game on Wednesday. With the loss, PBKS remain at the eighth place with 12 points from 13 games and a net-run-rate of -0.308. DC, who are already out of the playoff race, rose from the last spot to be placed ninth with 10 points from 13 games (NRR -0.572). Gujarat Titans are the only team which has sealed a playoff berth. Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians currently are among the top-four teams.

Orange Cap, Purple Cap

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis continue to lead the top run-getters' list with a tally of 631 in 12 games. In the top wicket-takers' list, GT duo Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan have the most wickets - 23 each.

Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings by 15 runs in an IPL encounter to hurt the latter's chances of qualifying for the play-offs, on Wednesday. Batting first, Prithvi Shaw was finally back among runs with a 38-ball 54, while South African Rilee Rossouw smashed a scintillating 82 not out off 37 balls as Delhi Capitals scored 213 for 2.

Skipper David Warner also contributed 46 off 31 balls with DC top order posting a decent total. It is their highest total of the season.

For Punjab Kings, Sam Curran had figures of 2 for 36 in four overs.

In reply, Liam Livingstone scored 94 off 48 balls but Punjab Kings managed only 198/8 in the end.

DC are now on 10 points from 13 games while Punjab Kings stay on 12 points from 13 games and the best they can reach is 14 points.
