Update on Triple H's in-ring status after 2021 cardiac event
Triple H is reportedly unlikely to ever step back into the ring after suffering a cardiac event in September 2021.
WWE is looking to bring back several legends for WrestleMania, as we’ve seen with reports of Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin being set to make their in-ring returns on the show.
Another name that fans have speculated could be back for the show is Triple H, especially given the reports that Cody Rhodes is coming back to WWE.
For the last several years, given their history, fans have said that Triple H would be the perfect opponent for Cody Rhodes’s return, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez threw out the idea of Triple H making his in-ring return at the big show in April.
However, Dave Meltzer shut down the idea, suggesting that not only will Triple H not be wrestling at WrestleMania this year, but he’s unlikely to ever step into the ring again.
The reason for this is HHH’s heart issues which stem from the cardiac event that he suffered back in September of 2021, as Meltzer explains, via WrestlingNews.co:
“No, Triple H would be a terrible idea,” Meltzer said. “His heart situation is, he can’t. I don’t want to say never because that’s because that’s unfair because maybe he can do something but that would be a horrible idea for him and that’s not gonna happen this year. There’s no way.”
It’s unknown whether or not Triple H is still in a position of power backstage within WWE, as we haven’t heard a lot about his status since his cardiac event last year.
The most important thing, of course, is Triple H’s health and wellbeing. We all hope he’s doing well in his long-term recovery from his heart issues.
