Update emerges on Morgan Rogers at AFC Bournemouth amid Man City loan stint

While Rogers remains technically on loan, he has effectively had his time at the Cherries cut short.

The 19-year old did not make the cut for Bournemouth’s 25-man squad and thus is not registered to play in the Championship.

Parker confirmed that Morgan has gone back to City and has resumed training with his parent club.

“He’s gone back to Manchester City. So we’ve come to an agreement with Manchester City for Morgan,” said Parker, via Manchester Evening News.

“He’s gone back there and he’s back in training with them. That is where Morgan is.”

Morgan had joined Bournemouth on a season long loan at the start of the campaign.

Rogers made 15 Championship appearances during the first half of the season, with 14 of those coming off the bench.

In that time he scored one goal for the club as they fought for an automatic promotion spot.

Rogers averaged 17 minutes per appearance so was never too important to the makeup of the squad.

Given their January transfer activity, he no longer fit into Parker’s plans and so he failed to make it onto the team’s registered players list.

City looked to secure a loan deal elsewhere but were unable to do so.

This is a very difficult spot for a 19-year old to find themselves in at the start of their career.

Rogers knew he wasn’t set to be registered as Parker had told him, so it was up to City to figure out what the next step was.

Bournemouth only have league games left in their season so it makes sense that he would leave the club.

But it is very poor form from City to effectively leave him stranded there for the last month with no firm idea of what his future held.
