University student and 'beautiful son' died of stab wound to the neck outside his home

A university student died from a stab wound to the neck after he was allegedly attacked outside his home, an inquest heard.

Salah Eldin Adam, 21, suffered the fatal stab wound outside his home address on Kings Road in Old Trafford on May 31. Two people have been charged with murder.

Today (Thursday) as an inquest into his death was formally opened, the court was told Mr Adam, originally from Leeds, died outside his home.

Police coroners' officer Claire Smith told Stockport Coroners' Court Mr Adam was single and was an engineering student at Salford University.

A Home Office post mortem examination concluded the cause of death was a stab wound to the neck, the court heard.

The officer added that an investigation was 'on-going' and a charge had been authorised for one person who has been charged with murder.

Senior South Manchester Coroner Alison Mutch adjourned the case until November 29 for a pre-inquest review.

Earlier this month Greater Manchester Police confirmed that Demari Adrian Raymond Rose, 19, of no fixed abode, had been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. Two males who were arrested on the night of the attack - a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and a 16-year-old on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon - were released on bail.

And today GMP confirmed a second person, Xaviour Wynter, 20, of no fixed abode, has also been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. He was due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today.
