"Unfortunately" - Journalist drops Rangers injury claim hours before St Johnstone amid bad news

Aaron Ramsey missing so much football for Juventus and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers side is unfortunate, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The midfielder left the Allianz Stadium for Ibrox in January for game time but has struggled to get that due to injury, with the Glasgow club’s trip to St Johnstone the latest fixture he is set to miss.

Ramsey joined Rangers from Juventus on loan in the last transfer window and arrived with big expectations attached.

Prior to his stint in Turin, the 31-year-old enjoyed a very successful spell at Arsenal, where he played 371 matches and won three FA Cups, making it no surprise that much is expected of him.

However, as a result of injury, he has recorded just 94 minutes of game time and has now been ruled out of the Premiership clash against Callum Davidson’s men, with Van Bronckhorst telling reporters there is no timescale for his return.

“I don’t have a clear timeline. Hopefully he can join the team very soon,” the Rangers boss was quoted as saying by BBC Sport ahead of his side’s trip to McDiarmid Park tonight.

“He is already working on the pitch again, so hopefully in the near future we can welcome him back in the squad.”

O’Rourke is sympathetic towards Ramsey, who has also missed a lot of games at Juventus this season because of injury.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the insider said: “Aaron Ramsey, unfortunately for him, has not played a lot of football probably over the last 18 months. Even at Juventus he had his problems and since he’s come to Rangers, he’s only started one game and that was in the Scottish Cup.”
