'Unfair!' - Arsenal icon hits out at Man City 115 charges after Premier League title success

Manchester City have won a record fourth consecutive Premier League title after beating West Ham 3-1 at the Etihad on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's side have now won six of the past seven top-flight league titles after finishing two points clear of runners-up Arsenal on the final day. Guardiola's team could also secure a domestic double next weekend against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

The club face 115 charges for alleged Financial Fair Play breaches which is still to be resolved. City strongly deny all charges with a hearing into their case set to take place in the "near future" according to Premier League chief executive Richard Masters.

And it was put to the Match of the Day pundits on Sunday by host Gary Lineker whether City's charges take anything away from the players' success. Alan Shearer replied: "Not for these players, no. It's not their fault. They just have to go out and perform on the football pitch.

"The club will have to answer those charges but those players have been superb and you can't take anything away from what they've achieved."

Ian Wright added: "I think it's unfair, the uncertainty that comes around it. It's unfair on the legacy that these players are building.

"I was watching them again in that Treble documentary and you watch them, and the drive and determination to do what they've done, it's unbelievable. It's unfair that they've got all of this wrapped around them. So the sooner they can get that resolved the better."
