Undertaker: The future plans for WWE Hall of Famer

Undertaker may have retired, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to ride off into the sunset anytime soon as WWE plan to utilise their Hall of Famer.

The Deadman brought the curtain down on his WWE career in 2020, marking thirty years in WWE since his famous debut at the 1990 Survivor Series. He was then inducted in the Hall of Fame at WrestleMania in April, but his long association with WWE is set to continue.

During SummerSlam week in July, Taker debuted his 1 deadMAN Show and has two more similar shows booked for Cardiff ahead of Clash at the Castle, and a further booked in Philadelphia ahead of Extreme Rules in October.

PWinsider is reporting that there is expected to more of these shows going forward with WWE trying to find ways to use Undertaker in a non-wrestling role.

The report said that the Phenom is by far WWE’s top star in terms of popularity and engagement and the clamour for him far outweighs that of any other former Superstars that have remained with the company in non-active roles.

Having had thirty years of being closely connected to his character, there has been little opportunity to hear from Undertaker over the decades, and so WWE is keen to use the uniqueness of his his ‘real’ persona in different roles across the company.

Undertaker remains one of the few WWE Superstars still with the company who competed at the last stadium show in the UK, SummerSlam 1992. On that night he defeated Kamala by disqualification, and it would be a fitting touch to have him appear at the Principality seeing as he is in the area.
