Ukrainian footballer Mudryk suspended until end of 2028 over anti-doping rule violation – media
Ukrainian footballer, left winger of London club Chelsea and the Ukrainian national team, Mykhailo Mudryk, has been suspended by the Football Association from participating in matches for four years on charges of anti-doping violations, British sports journalist Ben Jacobs has reported.
"The FA has banned the Chelsea winger for four years for an anti-doping offence, the maximum punishment," Jacobs said on X on Wednesday.
According to him, Mudryk has already appealed the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), filing documents on February 25, 2026.
"CAS confirm the Ukrainian is now appealing against the "imposed period of ineligibility of four years" adding that the parties are "currently exchanging written submissions, and a hearing is yet to be scheduled," the journalist said.
According to media reports, the four-year period is counted from December 2024, when Mudryk failed a doping test, with meldonium found in his samples. At the time, he said this came as a surprise to him, as he had never knowingly used prohibited substances.
