UFC star Conor McGregor in surprise Wrexham visit as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney lure clear

Wrexham supporters were left stunned on Tuesday when UFC star Conor McGregor's team visited the Turf pub to celebrate the Red Dragons' achievements so far.

McGregor chose the pub as the first outside of Dublin to showcase his new Nitro Irish Stout - Forged. As well as allowing the Wrexham fanbase to be the first to try the new drink, the 34-year-old donated all proceeds to local autism charity Your Space which Wrexham's top scorer Paul Mullin is a patron for.

The Irishman also donated £10,000 to the cause through his Forged Irish Stout brand. Discussing the decision to come to Wrexham, McGregor said: "The Wrexham success story is incredible and I can relate to it, that ambition, the hard work and passion to become the very best.

I look forward to visiting Wrexham soon."

McGregor could be making a trip to the town in the near future as Forged cans are made in nearby Ardagh Packaging Wrexham.

Owner of the Turf, Wayne Jones, added. "It’s not every day you get a call from Conor McGregor, but to be honest nothing surprises me these days after the past couple of years. It’s a real privilege for him to choose my establishment as the first to
