UFC's worst injuries: Gregory Rodrigues' gruesome cut is hard to look at

UFC injuries can often be gruesome given the brutal nature of the sport, with Gregory Rodrigues suffering a harrowing cut to his head during UFC Vegas 60.

He was competing with Chidi Njokuani in the co-main event in Vegas, treating us to an absolute classic, certainly worthy of a slot at the top of the fight card at any event.

Rodrigues won the bout in the second round, securing a tactical knockout victory over his opponent despite suffering what could well be one of the worst injuries we’ve ever seen in the UFC.

It was an incredibly entertaining night, with the brutal victory of Anthony Hernandez as he spiked his opponent Marc-Andre Barriault onto his head straight into the canvas one of the main talking points.

The move was so brutal, following the contact, the canvas actually broke from the impact, shocking fans worldwide.

That was all before the co-main event when Rodrigues overcame his injuries to get a huge victory in Vegas, with Njokuani answerless.

In the opening round, it looked like the fight could be all over, with Njokuani delivering a savage knee to the head of Rodrigues, cutting him in the process.

However, Rodrigues didn’t let the attack hamper him, fighting on afterwards when many would have been down and out, that just shows how strong his determination is and how hard it’ll be to beat him going forward.

Rodrigues secured the win the following round despite his injury thanks to a tactical knockout, it’s going to take a hell of a lot to keep him down if this injury wasn’t enough.
