In the main event of this weekend’s UFC Fight Night event, Islam Makhachev will aim to take another step towards the lightweight title formerly held by his childhood friend Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Khabib often appears in the corner of fellow Dagestani Makhachev, who was due to fight Beneil Dariush this Saturday but will instead take on Bobby Green.
An injury to Dariush has led to Green stepping in on short notice, just two weeks after the American last fought and beat Nasrat Haqparast via decision.
