The fastest knockout in UFC history occurred at UFC 239 in the Welterweight division contest between Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren.

Masvidal was able to finish Askren in just 5 seconds, with an unbelievable flying knee that took out the wrestling specialist in an unbelievably quick fashion.

Askren appeared to be going straight in for a double leg takedown right at the opening bell, but Masvidal had already decided to run headlong into the oncoming fighter with a brutal knee that ended the fight quicker than any other in company history.

The now-iconic finish has come to be the biggest moment of Masvidal’s career thus far and will be part of highlight packages for years to come. 

Masvidal is set to face Colby Covington on Saturday 5th March 2022 in the main event of UFC 272. The former friends turned bitter rivals will be looking to make a statement and cement their positions in the Welterweight division.
