UFC 278: Leon Edwards called his mum in incredibly emotional footage

An emotional Leon Edwards quickly called his mother following his UFC 278 win over Kamaru Usman.

Edwards became the second-ever champion from England after knocking out Usman late on into the fifth round.

His perfectly timed head kick put ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ to sleep.

Immediately after, there were heartwarming scenes with his brother Fabian Edwards and the rest of the team.

However, Leon managed to find time to call his mum following the knockout victory. The Birmingham native immediately burst into tears as soon he phoned his mother.

Since then, the footage has gone viral over social media in what is truly wholesome content.

“I told you mum, I told you I’d do it!” Edwards said. The win shocked the world as Kamaru was controlling the fight and won rounds 2,3 and 4.
