UFC 275: Joanna Jedrzejczyk "sharpening some tools" ahead of Zhang Weili rematch

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is set to face Zhang Weili in a huge rematch at UFC 275, and she recently discussed the bout ahead of her return to the octagon.

The pair originally fought back at UFC 246 in one of the greatest fights in the history of the company, and fans are hoping for more fireworks this time around.

Weili would take the win in the initial encounter, with the fight going the distance and seeing the 32-year-old Chinese fighter get her hand raised.

Here is what Joanna Jedrzejczyk had to see regarding her upcoming rematch with Zhang Weili at UFC 275 on Saturday 11th June 2022.

Speaking to MMAJunkie ahead of the massive rematch on June 11th, Jedrzejczyk stated that she needs to be “a bit smarter” in her return to the octagon.

She said: “I need to be a bit smarter. I’m going to come back. I’m very happy to get my second fight with Weili Zhang and go for the belt right after. The last fight was very close, and the decision could go either way.

“I felt like I did enough in the first fight. She was the champ at that time, so sometimes you have to do more to beat the champion. But I feel like I gave all I had in Vegas in March 2020, so we’re working on some things. We’re sharpening some tools.

“I just have to stay calm, be smarter, bring all my tools to the octagon, and I will win. I will get this victory and go for the belt right after.”

It’s looking like the winner of the contest will go on to face Carla Esparza for the UFC Strawweight Championship, adding to the stakes of this already highly-anticipated contest.

Speaking back at the UFC 274 Post-Fight Press Conference, UFC President Dana White confirmed that this fight would be a #1
