Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou: Dana White thinks 'it's a really bad idea'

UFC president Dana White thinks Tyson Fury‘s potential boxing match with Francis Ngannou is ‘a really bad idea’.

The two respective champions have repeatedly called each other out in recent weeks for a crossover fight inside the squared circle.

But it is understood Ngannou has one fight left on his UFC contract, meaning he would need to ask White for permission to release him from the legally-binding agreement.

However, White has essentially scoffed at the idea, as he doesn’t think it would end well too for Ngannou

During an appearance on ‘My Mom’s Basement’ with Robbie Fox, the 52-year-old said: “It’s a really bad idea for Francis, a really bad idea.

“So did what’s his name, the dude he just fought? Deontay Wilder, he had that one-punch power, too.”

Fury, however, sees no issue with having a fight with Ngannou despite the obvious gulf in experience.

That’s despite claiming he will call time on his career after defending his WBC title against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium on April.

The Gypsy King, 33, is currently scheduled to face the Body Snatcher in a mandatory defence next month with Fury’s WBC belt up for grabs.

Earlier this week Fury revealed that he will retire on ‘a massive yacht abroad’.

But that doesn’t mean he won’t fight again in the future as he insisted he would be willing to make an exception for Ngannou.

Fury told MMA Fighting: “We’ve got Francis Ngannou, he’s a big guy, a big dangerous guy.

“I’d love to see, people going on, ‘Oh, it’s not a fair fight in 10oz gloves,’ and that’s correct.

“It wouldn’t be a fair fight in 10oz gloves because like Cormier said recently, he said Francis Ngannou is a much cruder version of Deontay Wilder, and we all know what happened there.
