Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte contract: When is the deadline, what WBC rules say and £6m deal

Tyson Fury is set to make his return to the boxing ring in just over two months time when he'll face Dillian Whyte.

However, the fight hangs in the balance as Whyte has a matter of hours to sign his contract to agree to it.

It has been a bout which has been in the making for some time having finally being mandated by the WBC.

The bout has encountered numerous delays, with purse bids being pushed back on four occasions. However, an agreement was finally reached and the countdown to the fight is now on.

Two weeks ago, Eddie Hearn confirmed that Fury had signed his end of the contract, with Whyte yet to do so.

Whyte has still not put pen to paper but is expected to sign the deal on Monday, provided there is no last-minute hitch.

However, Whyte now has a matter of hours to do so - with Fury's camp being aggravated by his antics.

Whyte is set to earn by far the biggest payday of his career, banking £6m from the fight plus a handsome £3m bonus should be beat the Gypsy King.

Whyte has until the end of Monday to commit to the title challenge under the WBC's rules and if confirmation is not received then the Body Snatcher could miss out on a shot at Fury.

The fight is scheduled to be held at Wembley Stadium, with Fury having already confirmed it will take place on April 23.

Hearn lost the purse bids for the fight, with Fury's promoters Warren and Bob Arum taking the lead.

Whyte is coming off the back of a win over Alexander Povetkin, avenging his KO defeat to the Russian in 2020, with Fury fighting for the first time in the UK since his trilogy contests with Deontay Wilder.
