Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Who has the better boxing resumé?

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua‘s “Battle of Britain” super-fight between appears to be going ahead.

According to Joshua’s management team he has agreed terms to meet Fury on December 3. With the “Gypsy King’s” WBC heavyweight title on the line.

In the past Fury has criticised Joshua for fighting boxers outside their prime.

Only this month Fury slammed talkSPORT journalist Simon Jordan during an interview, when Jordan suggested that Joshua was a better fighter than Deontay Wilder who Fury has fought three times and emerged with two victories and a draw.

But who has the best record?

Joshua turned professional five years later than Fury, however, he has fought just six times fewer, with the WBC champion less active in recent years, most prominently during the two-year gap between bouts against Wladimir Klitschko and Sefer Seferi.

Of Joshua’s 24 victories 22 have been by stoppage, but after his shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr he has lost twice to Oleksandr Uysk. Making it three defeats in five.

Fury is undoubtedly not as prolific a finisher, with a knockout percentage of 69. However, he has maintained his unbeaten record throughout his 33 fights, with no fighter having been able to overcome him.

Based on the records and on recent form, you have to favour an unbeaten Fury. However, when you place their records under greater scrutiny and directly compare their opposition, it’s certainly Joshua who has taken on the more high-profile names.
