Tyson Fury sets final deadline for Anthony Joshua fight: ‘If it’s not done by Monday I am moving on’

Tyson Fury says he will walk away from a fight against Anthony Joshua unless a contract is finalised by Monday.

Joshua has accepted initial terms to fight ‘The Gypsy King’ on 3 December in Cardiff for the WBC heavyweight title.

Further talks have been ongoing between Matchroom and Queensberry Promotions with Eddie Hearn explaining the contract he has received was ‘not in the right spirit of the deal.’

While both parties have suggested talks over finalising the fight have been largely amicable, Fury has been putting pressure on Joshua to sign in videos shared on social media throughout the week.

The champion is in attendance to watch close friend Joseph Parker take on Joe Joyce in Manchester tonight and offering a latest update from ringside, confirmed he will fight someone else in December if the deal is not over the line within 48 hours.

‘I was optimistic about three weeks ago but it should be taking this long to sign a contract,’ Fury said.

‘We will know by Monday anyway because if it is not done by Monday I’m moving on. I’m not waiting around for some guy who has lost three of his last five fights.

‘I don’t mind chucking him a bone but I don’t want them to start dictating s**t to me. He is an invited guest at my party. My rules. So if you want to play the game, come to the banquet and take your seat.’

Manuel Charr has emerged as a possible option for Fury in December if Joshua talks fall through with his brother Shane admitting last week the champion will ‘probably fight’ Charr instead and ‘have an easy run out.’

Speaking on Friday, Hearn also admitted he now fears Charr, the 37-year-old who has fought twice in five years, is now set to fight Fury.
