Tyson Fury sent Eddie Hearn a typically cheeky text after selling out Wembley

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that Tyson Fury taunted him with text messages after Fury’s fight next month sold 85,000 tickets at Wembley stadium.

The Gypsy King faces fellow heavyweight Dillian Whyte on April 23rd at a now sold-out Wembley when Fury will look to defend his WBC heavyweight title.

Tickets for the fight went on sale on Wednesday and promoter Frank Warren confirmed that 85,000 tickets sold out within three hours.

However, just a week before, Hearn was asked if he thought the event would sell out and said it most likely wouldn’t sell out.

The clip of Hearn saying that was then shared around social media once the news got out that the fight had indeed sold out.

Hearn told iFL TV: “Fury was messaging me last night with a clip of me going, ‘Oh, I don’t think it will sell out.’

“He was like, ‘Haa.’ I’m like, mate, how are you sitting at home thinking about me?”

He went on to say: “I said to him, ‘It’s very cute that you’re thinking about me sweet cheeks, I’ll see you soon.’ That’s what I replied.

“I get a few calls [from him] now and again, missed calls when he’s out and about.

“Listen, I actually like Tyson Fury, I don’t mind him at all. He’s a lot different in person to what you see on social media, a lot different. He’s actually a very knowledgeable boxing head as well.

“Last time I was with him, he actually went through our entire stable talking about [them], he knows his stuff.

“I have no problem with him, but I do find it funny that they think of me. I’m just over here, minding my own business, doing Canelo Alvarez.

“He sent me that video and I replied with the head-to-head from Canelo. I said, ‘I’m busy at the moment, mate.”
