Tyson Fury opens up on Conor McGregor feud as he admits 'I think he's alright'

Tyson Fury has opened up about his beef with Conor McGregor ahead of his showdown with Dillian Whyte.

The Gypsy King, 33, became involved in a war of words with the UFC superstar in an online feud between the pair.

McGregor, also known as Notorious, struck the first blow when he called Fury a ‘Versace t***’ for not helping Billy Joe Saunders‘ dad during a row with security following his son’s defeat to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

But Fury wasted no time in firing back at McGregor by calling him ‘a bully’.

The slanging match escalated as McGregor took aim at Fury’s character essentially accusing him of running away from a fight.

He declared: “You are just a little r** licker bro. That’s all. You stood there while your friends father was being attacked and done nothing.

“That’s the be all end all bro. God luck, God bless.”

But it seems that it was all just a bit of fun and games in an attempt to generate a few headlines.

Discussing his Twitter spat with McGregor on Queensberry Promotions’ YouTube channel, Fury said: “Yeah that was Super Bowl weekend, a good time to get some publicity.

“Great timing, actually. We were trending all over Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.

“Pretty good, pretty good work.”

The pair have enjoyed a cordial relationship in the past, with both men congratulating each other despite never having met in person.

And according to Fury, nothing has changed in that regard as far as he is concerned.

Asked what he actually thinks of McGregor, he added: “I think he’s alright. He’s a good fighter, isn’t he?

“Or, well, he has been a good fighter in the past.

“It is what it is.

“Man’s doing his thing, earning a few quid, paying for his family.

“Can’t complain, can you?”
