Tyson Fury hint dropped by Oleksandr Usyk trainer ahead of Dillian Whyte fight

Tyson Fury has been told that he did the right thing in choosing to fight Dillian Whyte over Oleksandr Usyk by the Ukrainian's trainer, who has had words for the Gyspy King ahead of a potential future showdown. There had been talks between Fury and Usyk's camp over a potential fight between the two, with Anthony Joshua reportedly been offered millions to step aside from his rematch with Usyk in order to do so.

But a deal could not be agreed, and therefore fights will commence between Usyk and Joshua - in a rematch of their first bout which saw the former dominate Joshua - while Fury will finally face Whyte. Fury vs Whyte will take place on Saturday, April 23 at Wembley Stadium in what will be one of British boxing's biggest heavyweight bouts of all-time.

The WBC had mandated Fury to defend his title against his fellow Brit but there was a significant delay with developments, with purse bids delayed on four occasions and Whyte waiting until the final hours before a deadline to submit his contract with the governing body this week.

The contest was made official last month, with fans excited to see Fury's return to the UK - before eventually facing the winner of Usyk and Joshua, in what would be a unification bout should the Gyspy King defeat Whyte.

And the mind games have already started by Usyk's camp ahead of a potential bout with Fury later in 2022, with the Ukrainian's trainer hinting that Fury did not want to face Usyk.

Usyk's trainer Segey Lapin told MyBettingSites : "Usyk is always ready for any challenger, he was one of the first who agreed to hold a unification against Tyson Fury.
