Tyson Fury handed risky blueprint to defeat Oleksandr Usyk with 'messy' tactic

Tyson Fury has been told what he'll need to do to defeat Oleksandr Usyk in this month's undisputed fight in Saudi Arabia.

Fury and Usyk will meet in the ring after months of anticipation after the original date was cancelled in February when the Gypsy King sustained a cut to his eye in sparring.

On May 18, the two fighters will go head-to-head to become undisputed world champion. Fury goes into the fight as the favourite with his significant size advantage over the Ukrainian.

However, Usyk has proved his quality in recent years by defeating Anthony Joshua in style. Ahead of the fight, British star Denzel Bentley has urged Fury to use messy tactics to come out on top.

"Fury cuts quite easily so I don't think anything will happen because of the cut in sparring," he told talkSPORT. "If he is going to get cut, he will get cut anyway.

"It's a good fight between the two, Fury has more of an advantage but Usyk is an excellent boxer. He has great movement and he’s fought some heavy guys and he’s managed to outbox them.

“His strengths in this fight are the fact he is a heavyweight that is happy to box and move around. Fury’s going to find trouble getting in but when he does he is going to lean, hold and make it messy.

“And if he can do that, I’m going to go with Fury if he can make it messy if the referee allows him to and doesn’t punish him. I’m going Fury on points but loosely, it is going to be a close fight.”
