Tyson Fury explains southpaw stance after Wembley workout

Tyson Fury warmed up for his huge heavyweight championship clash with Dillian Whyte with an open training session at the Wembley Box Park on Saturday afternoon. Fans will have been surprised to see the self-styled 'Gypsy King' lining up with an unfamiliar southpaw stance.

It could well be a tactic to confuse his opponent, or it could be a sign that a change in style is on the cards for the WBC and the Ring heavyweight champion's return to UK soil. Sugarhill Steward was in the ring with the champion, preparing him after his opponent Whyte missed the event.

Explaining his stance for the fight, Fury explained "We all know I'm ambidextrous and can punch with both hands, I've had knockout wins with my right and my left so I'm just sharpening it all up and ready to rock and roll.

"That's what we're aiming for, it's what Sugar delivers, it's that knockout style - I was watching the greats yesterday, getting inspiration from George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Joe Frazier.

"It's been a great camp, we've always had good fun in it and we're looking forward to a good, hard fight and if it's anything less we're in for an early night - straight to the bar I think.

Whyte is set to attend tomorrow's press conference after missing the fight announcement in March and Fury expressed his relief that the 34-year-old would be at the event to help promote the fight, saying: "I'm happy because I don't have to do all the work now - I'll step back and let him take over from now on."
