Tyson Fury & Dillian Whyte fight purse: Gypsy King lands whopping winning bonus

Tyson Fury put on a heavyweight clinic on Saturday night as he did away with Dillian Whyte with terrifying ease.

In front of a record-breaking 94,000-strong crowd at Wembley Stadium, Fury dominated the fight from start to finish, barely breaking a sweat before polishing Whyte off with a vicious uppercut.

The slow-motion footage of Fury’s punch shows just how perfect it was and how, in truth, Whyte never really stood a chance.

The Body Snatcher couldn’t land a punch all night and, with all due respect, even he would admit that the writing was on the wall by the end of the second round.

Despite the playing a few bizarre mind-games that saw both fighters alternating stances in the opening exchanges, it was all one way traffic and when Fury landed that uppercut, nobody was surprised.

While the fight itself may have underwhelmed somewhat, the general occasion will go down in boxing history.

A packed out Wembley watched on as Fury took to the canvas for what could be his last ever fight.

In the aftermath, Fury was adamant that he won’t be returning and was more than happy to go out on top in one of British boxing’s greatest ever nights.

In truth, he’s never been in a better position to retire after the final purse figures for the fight emerged.

Influential boxing journalist Michael benson took to Twitter to share the figures, highlighting the massive gulf in earning between Fury and Whyte on the night.

Fury, if you add in his winning bonus, is believed to have earned a whopping £26.2 million on the night while Whyte, due to the 82/18 split of the purse, took home £5.8 million.

Tyson Fury's final purse for the Dillian Whyte fight is $33.6million (£26.2million) – base purse of $29.5million, plus the $4.1million winner's bonus.
