Tyson Fury confirms he will retire from boxing and responds to UFC interest

Tyson Fury has confirmed that he will retire from boxing after his knockout victory over Dillian Whyte on Saturday night. Fury has now doubled down on his intentions and has announced his retirement.

The fight was a stunning all-round display from Fury, who kept Dillian Whyte in his range as he worked his jab, before flooring his opponent with a swift and stunning knockout in the sixth round.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I've been in this game for 20 years, I'm 34 in a few months. This is definitely the end of the Gypsy King and I went out with a bang. Tonight was amazing but this is the end."

It would bring an end to one of the greatest careers in boxing history - retiring with 32 wins and one draw in his 33 fights.

He would later confirm his retirement in his post-fight press conference.

He said: "I am gonna go home with my wife and kids and become the second heavyweight after Rocky Marciano to retire undefeated - the two time ring magazine champion of the world. I was unbeatable at this game.

"I will not rule out exhibitions - I want to have fun and entertain. Big Francis Ngannou was here today - he's on my hitlist. Boxing ring, octagon, boxing gloves or UFC gloves - let's make it happen."
