Tyson Fury challenges Ryan Reynolds to boxing match after Wrexham hammer Morecambe

Tyson Fury has challenged Wrexham FC co-owner Ryan Reynolds to a boxing match.

It comes after Morecambe - the seaside town where Fury resides - were beaten 6-0 by Wrexham in League Two at the weekend. An own goal from Joel Senior saw Wrexham take the lead, with Paul Mullin hitting a hat-trick, whilst Jacob Mendy and James Jones also found the net.

Wrexham are enjoying a superb start to life back in the EFL after promotion from the fifth tier of English football was confirmed last season. Phil Parkinson's side are currently second in the table after 19 games played, with Morecambe down in 12th following the heavy defeat.

Following his hometown side's defeat, Fury took to Instagram to share a mock-up image of himself fighting Reynolds' popular movie character, Deadpool. He asked fans to vote via social media who they believed would come out on top.

The image included the Morecambe and Wrexham badges, with the heavyweight boxer already teasing on more than one occasion his desire to get into the ring for a tussle-up with the Hollywood actor. Asked if he would attend the game between the two teams, Fury said: "Yeah, I'm going to call out Ryan Reynolds."

Fury is set to take on Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on February 17, as he prepares to put his unbeaten record on the line once more against the man who twice defeated Anthony Joshua. With seemingly mutual respect evident between the pair, the Mancunian told reporters earlier this month: ''Usyk has done everything he could possibly do so I have to respect him."
