Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua nominated for prestigious Boxer of the Year prize ahead of British Boxing Awards

Despite both losing their latest bouts, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have both been nominated for Boxer of the Year awards.

The British Boxing Awards has revealed the shortlists for a range of categories, which includes other huge names from the sport including Frank Bruno, Katie Taylor and Eddie Hearn - with the winners to be announced by the first female fighter to win Olympic gold, Nicola Adams, and Ricky Hatton at a glittering ceremony in London. It is is the first time that the boxing industry will be recognised at one flagship event, which aims to celebrate those who have achieved success both in and out of the ring as well as organisations who have backed the sport to grow, and those working at a grassroots level.

As well as Fury and Joshua, Daniel Dubois - who defeated AJ to defend the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley in September - is also nominated, whilst former boxing greats including Frank Bruno and Lennox Lewis are also on the 2025 shortlist for their work to promote access to the sport at grassroots level. Ireland's Katie Taylor meanwhile leads the nominees for Female Boxer of the Year - fresh off the back of retaining her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring female light-welterweight titles on the undercard of Jake Paul against Mike Tyson.

The awards take place at London's Langham Hotel on Friday March 28 2025.

Host and former Olympian Nicola Adams said: “This is an incredible shortlist. The British Boxing Awards will shine a light on the people and organisations contributing to the phenomenal growth of the sport. Boxing champions, both in and out of the ring, will be recognised and commended for their work in the sport.”

Heidi Afzhar, from the British Boxing Awards, added: "This is a landmark moment
