Two Premier Division fixtures in doubt as storm hits

At least two Premier Division matches could fall victim to the extreme weather conditions on the opening weekend of the new League of Ireland season.

Friday night's game between Finn Harps and Drogheda United and Saturday's clash of Sligo Rovers and Bohemians will be subject to pitch inspections at 10am on matchday.

The north-west is set to be hit by snow with a status orange warning in place for 12 hours on Friday, ending at 3pm.

There has been heavy rain throughout the week with more forecast in the coming 48 hours.

The First Division fixture between Bray Wanderers and Cork City on Friday is also in jeopardy on Friday with a 10am pitch inspection planned.
