Two in hospital and road shut after serious crash
Two people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash. The incident happened on Thursday afternoon between Aberffrwd Road and Campbell Terrace, Mountain Ash.
Dyffryn Road is currently closed in both directions. A South Wales Police spokesman said on Thursday night the section of road between New Road junction and Mill Road junction is expected to remain closed for some time.
The spokesman said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Dyffryn Road, Mountain Ash. The road is currently closed in both directions between the Junction of New road and the Junction of Mill Road It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
A Welsh Ambulance Service Trust spokesman said they were called to the scene at around 1.30pm. Three ambulances attended along with an air ambulance. According to the spokesman two patients were taken to hospital via road ambulance. One was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff while the other was taken to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
