Two crashes on M4 causing major delays near Bridgend

A total of six cars have crashed in two pileups on the M4 near Bridgend. There were "two accidents in the same stretch" of westbound motorway, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.

In an update at 5.31pm on Wednesday Inrix said: "Heavy traffic and two lanes closed due to accident, four cars involved on M4 westbound from junction 36 A4061 (Bridgend / Sarn Service Area) to junction 37 A4229 (Pyle/ Porthcawl). In the roadworks area. Lanes one and two (of three) are closed. There are two accidents in the same stretch with the second involving two cars."
