Tributes pour in as organiser of Ramsbottom black pudding championships dies aged 73

Tributes have poured in across social media following the news that one of the organisers of the Ramsbottom black-pudding throwing championships has sadly passed away.

Described as a "huge figure" in the local community, Phil Taylor died on Wednesday (February 12) following a short stint in hospital, barely a fortnight on from his 73rd birthday.

The post on Thursday (February 13) has since received almost a hundred comments. "Heaven will be a brighter, chattier place with Phil there," wrote Cheryl.

"A true gentleman that will be missed by many of us. He was not one to walk by, he stepped in, he stepped up."

"Always helpful, knowledgeable, caring, unselfish, passionate about life and all its tapestry," wrote Karl McGinley.
