Trent Alexander-Arnold makes huge claim about Liverpool teammate Fabio Carvalho

Trent Alexander-Arnold believes Liverpool summer signing Fabio Carvalho ‘has the world at his feet’ after the youngster scored his first goal for the club in Saturday’s 90 thrashing of Bournemouth.

The Reds were searching for their first win of the season after an uncharacteristically sloppy start which reached its nadir at Old Trafford on Monday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, stung by the criticism they received in midweek, roared out of the traps and were two goals up in six minutes through Roberto Firmino and Harvey Elliott.

Alexander-Arnold, himself, added a spectacular goal soon after an further goals from Firmino and Virgil van Dijk had the rampant home side 5-0 ahead at the break.

There was no let-up after the interval with Carvalho, who joined from Fulham at the beginning of the transfer window, helping himself to a smartly taken goal with 10 minutes remaining.

Hailing the impact the 19-year-old has made since his arrival at Anfield, the England international said: ‘He’s gelled well with the lads and he’s got the world at his feet. I’m sure he’ll go on to do amazing things.

‘For him it’s about pushing a place into the team and making an impact and today he’s bagged himself a goal.

‘He’s built himself a really good foundation for this season so hopefully he can go on and push further.’

Alexander-Arnold has been among a clutch of Liverpool players who have been called out for sub-par performances in recent weeks and the right-back admitted a response was needed after the Reds were humbled by their fiercest rivals.
