Treble and double-chasers The Address UCC Glanmire and Garvey's Tralee Warriors wary ahead of finals weekend

Saturday is primed to be a major day in the domestic basketball calendar.

Fresh from winning a National Cup in January and the Super League title in early March, The Address UCC Glanmire club are aiming to add to their trophy haul when they take on Singleton SuperValu Brunell in the MissQuote.ie Champions Trophy final at 4.30pm.

And in the men's final later that day at 7pm, Garvey's Tralee Warriors and C&S Neptune will meet in the InsureMyVan.ie Super League decider.

That showdown pits double-chasing Tralee against a Neptune team that lost out to them in the InsureMyHouse.ie Pat Duffy National Cup final back in January.

"It's a little bit strange. We had a little bit of a slack in form after the cup naturally enough," Tralee Warriors captain Fergal O'Sullivan told RTÉ's Game On.

"And Neptune have got better since then. So really the cup final doesn't make a difference to us in our head. They've been really impressive the last month or so and got better in every game.

"They knocked out the best team in the country in the semi-finals, so we're not really taking anything out of that cup final.

"It's a new game to prepare for and that's the way we're looking at it."

Scannell, meanwhile, is hoping his team can cap a strong campaign in the Women's Super League and cup with a third trophy, although his side are well aware of what's at stake against a local rival.

"We're excited and it's nice to be involved and it's nice that the season is still ongoing," he said.

"We've had a very good season and we won a lot of games and thankfully we won two big trophies but it's a big local derby for us on the weekend and playing Brunell always brings that excitement and that local rivalry.
